this little piggy

i've always loved this bank. it's the perfect mix of modern with a traditional theme. now i have a reason to buy it. i think i'll fill it with my piggy bank money from my childhood bank.

my little tomato

so every week i send my family a little update about the baby that compares its size to a food item, usually a fruit or veggie. this week i am 19 weeks, rounding the corner to 5 months and the baby is the size of a heirloom tomato.

today my thoughtful sister sent me this picture from her phone....so cute i teared up. she's all the way in florida and i miss her!

had our last ultrasound today...tear. i could have starred at that monitor all day. here are the pics we got back. the technician said she needs to meet this little one when it's born, she's never seen such an active baby. just like daddy!

commitment

to keep my mind from wandering and keep calm and carry on, i've been reading this book, the invitation. yesterday the section on commitment really made me think.

"it doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.

i want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair,

weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children."

heart marks the spot

today on my train ride to work i was relaxing, listening to music, preparing myself for the day, when suddenly i felt a little thump in my tummy. at first i thought nothing it, but quickly i realized, that was my baby. it was the most exciting part of my day.

according to ancient egyptian, greek, american, and indian beliefs, the first movement marked the moment when the soul entered the fetus. aboriginals regard the location where the first quickening is felt as highly significant for the baby.

As you can see, Francesco and I are happy to announce that we are going to have a baby. The due date is April 27th 2010. We are very excited and are enjoying every moment. We thought you could enjoy the process with us by putting together a little blog. So that we can share this wonderful experience with those we don't see or talk to on a daily basis, but still play an important part in our life. I want to include pics of baby, me as I get bigger, some decorating ideas, and things i love for baby and parents to be.
